Description of Gabion Stone Cages

Gabion boxes are made of triple twist hexagonal woven wire mesh. Gabions stand out as the simple, efficient and economical solution, as the cages are simply filled with natural stone and also proven as environmentally friendly.

We design and supply Gabion Box made of double twisted hexagonal wire mesh or welded wire mesh. Thisk kind of mesh not only used as a gabion box, it also can be customized, not only the shape, size. and also can add small parts to make the mesh is more strong. one of our client asked us to add steel rope in the border and middle position, the gabion can be in roll or a box.

1. Materials: hot dipped galvanized wire or PVC coated galvanized wire, Galfan coated wire ( Zinc 95% + 5% Aluminum).

2. Zinc coating : 225-275g/m2.

3. Tensile strength between 380N/mm2 -- 500N/mm2.

4. Elongation≥ 12%.

5.Wire Diameter:2.4-3.5mm

6.Mesh Size: 50x70mm, 50x100mm, 80x100mm or according to customers’ requirements.

Gabion box can be used for making slope, rock,slope vegetation,rail-way or highway guardrail mesh stable. Welded gabion box is manufactured from cold steel wire with high tensile strength. It is electrically welded together then hot dipped galvanized or PVC coated, ensuring a longer life. There are galvanized welded gabions and PVC welded gabions. Welded Gabion box is designed on the principle of mass earth retaining wall. The strength of the wire mesh helps to stand the forces generated by the retained soil.
